2025 Undergraduate Student Research Week

All members of the Cal Poly community are invited to participate in the 2025 Cal Poly Undergraduate Research Week (M 4/21 to F 4/25/25). These events are part of a national celebration of undergraduate research organized each year by the Council on Undergraduate Research.

Cal Poly Undergraduate Research Week events are open to all members of the Cal Poly community and all disciplines.

1. M 4/21 Accessing the Secret Menu: How to Get Involved with Student Research

   • Description: Get access to the Secret Menu. Learn more about how to get involved in student research at Cal Poly and off-campus. Organized by the Office of Student Research. 
2. T 4/22 For Faculty, Staff & Administrators: Building Inclusive Student Fellowships 
   • Details: T 4/22, 1:10-2pm

   • Description: For faculty, staff and administrators seeking to support the professional development of students (including those without work authorization) by creating inclusive research/creative practice and related fellowships. Learn about when fellowships with financial awards can be utilized and how to create these financial awards-based fellowship programs. Organized by the Office of Student Research in coordination with the Central Coast Coalition for Undocumented Student Success (CCC-USS). 
3. W 4/23 Editing & Publishing Undergraduate Research/Creative Practice Journals as Students at Cal Poly! (A Student & Faculty Panel)

   • Description: Did you know that undergraduate students edit and publish undergraduate research/creative practice journals as students at Cal Poly? Join this faculty & student panel organized by the Office of Student Research and the Women's, Gender & Queer Studies Department to learn about this learn by doing opportunity, and about these journals:
     • The Forum: A Journal of History
     • Intertidal: a literary & arts journal
     • .RAW Journal of Art & Design
     • sprinkle: an undergraduate journal of feminist & queer studies

4. W 4/23 "Making the Most of Your Summer" Info Session for College of Engineering Students 
   • Details: W 4/23, 3:10-4pm

   • Description: Will discuss the CENG Summer Undergraduate Research Program (CENG SURP) (applications due 5/2) and other summer options! Organized by the College of Engineering. 
5. F 4/25 & Sat 4/26 CSU-wide Student Research Competition at Cal Poly Humboldt
   • Current Cal Poly students and recent alums are serving as delegates to the CSU-wide Student Research Competition.
