OSR Student Research Fellowships

The Office of Student Research is excited to announce that applications are now open for up to five Summer 2022 Student Research Fellowships. 

OSR Student Research Fellowships are open to students in all disciplines and are undocufriendly. Students must qualify for need-based financial aid. 

Summer 2022 Fellows will receive a $3,500 stipend to support their professional development and training via a hands-on research experience mentored by a Cal Poly faculty member. 

Added 4/22/22: Your proposal can include research in which you are already engaged. Your proposal may also seek to provide you with a funded opportunity to join an existing research group in any college.  

Applications are due Friday 5/6/22 (extended) at 11:59pm CA time.

Note: Students who are LSAMP-eligible (STEM disciplines; not undocufriendly) are also encouraged to apply for the Summer 2022 LSAMP Research Fellowship Program (also due May 6, 2022). The prompts are the same for the OSR and LSAMP Fellowships and the same materials can be submitted.

As part of your application, you will need to provide a 

1. Resume or CV
2. A one-page research project proposal (directions)
3. A one-half page motivation statement (directions)
4. A letter or email of commitment from a Cal Poly faculty member to serve as your faculty mentor (may also be submitted separately to studentresearch@calpoly.edu)
5. Evidence of qualification for need-based financial aid
