The Annual SURP+ Research Poster Symposium will occur from 11am to 1pm on Friday, Oct 10th.
Faculty, staff and students are invited to learn about student research at Cal Poly by engaging with over 150 research and creative activity projects completed in Summer 2025 as part of Cal Poly’s Summer Undergraduate Research Programs (SURPs).
Join us at Engineering Plaza! Posters will be in the ATL, Bonderson (197) and Building 192. Stop by anytime between 11am to 1pm to support student research and creative activity at Cal Poly. No RSVP is required.
Have a question? Please email studentresearch@calpoly.edu.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Student poster presenters worked alongside faculty/staff members and community partners throughout the summer, resulting in co-authored publications and university-industry-and-community collaborations.
Students will present their research findings during the event that is jointly organized by the Bailey College of Science & Mathematics, the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences, the College of Engineering, the College of Liberal Arts, the Orfalea College of Business, and the Office of Student Research in collaboration with the California Central Coast Community College Collaborative (C6) (previously funded by the NSF).
Additional support is provided by the Office of Research at Cal Poly.
At least twenty-five community college researchers – from C6 campuses including: Allan Hancock College, Cabrillo College, Cuesta College, Monterey Peninsula College, Moorpark College, Oxnard College, Santa Barbara City College and Ventura College – will share their research as part of this event.
This event is co-located with a Mini Research Opportunities Fair. The fair is for students interested in getting involved in additional research opportunities on campus. Many of our campus centers and institutes will be present including the Dairy Products Technology Center, Center for Health Research, Center for Coastal Marine Sciences (CCMS), Center for Expressive Technologies, Grimm Family Center for Organic Production and Research, California Strawberry Center, Kenneth N Edwards Western Coatins Technology Center, Institute for Advanced Technology and Public Policy, and PolyGAIT - Cal Poly R&D for Global Automated Identication Technologies.
In addition, at the Resource Fair, you can find out about more research opportunities and research support through the Office of Student Research/CSU SPaRA, Robert E. Kennedy Library, BEACoN program and National and International Fellowships and Scholarships (NIFS). For our C6 guests, the Transfer Admissions Officer and representatives from the Transfer Center will also be present to discuss processes and supports for transferring to Cal Poly. We hope to see you there!
